["His"? A boyfriend? It's the first conclusion to jump to when it's about something like flowers, plus the fact that it's a murmur. She's pretty enough, so it makes sense.]
So this is like going back in time two months for you, if it's real. [But she's right...] Everything else does look like the first day of school.
[Boyfriend? If only it were that simple---Suleyman was...someone she deeply trusted, at any rate. For all of her cheeriness and spontaneity, a boyfriend's actually not something she wants----for many reasons.
Seth looks off to the side somewhat, laughing a bit weakly. If it's real. Well, this would be the most involved dream she's had in a while...if she could even call it that.]
You say that as if we're all having the same dream---considering the variety of people here? I think that's a little too intricate even for a dream, for our minds to conjure up so many different individuals. [But, she nods.] Yes. [And no, but she'd rather not overwhelm him with divulging the fact that she's from the future. And yet, speaking of timeframes...] You're right, though. Summertime is when everyone's on vacation.
[Then, she laughs again, with a bit more gusto.]
Although, there is such a thing as remedial courses...but surely, that can't be the case in point here, right? That'd just be rather embarrassing...
[Look to him she just seems like an ordinary teenage girl... There's no reason for him to think otherwise. He doesn't think it's a dream either, mind you, but it's hard to explain a situation that makes little sense. He's just thinking of all the dumb sci-fi movies he's been forced to watch in his life.
While she laughs at the possibility of remedial courses, his expression drops, darkening a bit.]
That's a joke, right? [He studied to ensure nothing like that happens??] I don't think I even could do remedial courses at this point, I have entrance exams.
[Oh, he can feel free to assume that she's as normal as normal can get (well, mostly normal)---Seth will happily oblige him. Playfully, she nudges Iwaizumi.]
Well, aren't you prepared? You never know---if we...somehow managed to get enrolled here, that means there's a possibility they've looked into our educational backgrounds, right? [Though, honestly, she severely doubts that the case. Still, he appears to be a perfectly normal guy, so she'll go with an analogy that makes sense to him rather than outright saying "they may have probed into our personal lives to bring us here." She grins reassuringly.] If you're already going over material needed for entrance exams, they might make an exception for you!
[Or rather, he's just lucky he's not a fish-out-of-water like she is, in this situation.]
[He looks down at where her arm nudged his, frowns at it but doesn't say anything.]
I guess I'm a little prepared? But have you heard them speak? [They all should have heard that garbled mess at the start--surely?] It's not like we can understand it. ...Unless you could?
Well...no. [Seth now looks a little more contemplative. It's true, though. The language of the natives here is akin to some kind of gibberish---she's not sure if it might be some kind of cipher language or an entirely new language altogether.] But...I would assume whatever written material we get would be in a language we understand, right? And besides...
[She looks up at Iwaizumi, raising an eyebrow.] ...Don't you think it's odd that we can understand each other?
I don't know... where are you from? [If they're both from Japan, then it's probably not all that weird. Probably. Either way--] I wouldn't assume written language would work differently though either. We'll have to see what they do.
They considered my land a part of the Middle East, long ago. In recent times, however, most call my home country Byzantium. [Seth doesn't look in the slightest bit Asian---if anything, she looks vaguely European, but anything's possible! So....yeah, it's a little weird knowing a language from a country that's all but gone, where she's from. Much of Asia was destroyed during Armageddon.] But, even though I've never heard this language in my life otherwise, it still makes things easier, right? Otherwise, this situation would be a lot more difficult.
[In the meantime, she shrugs.]
But, you're right---we'll just have to play it by eye and ear. [She smiles. He's a sensible sort. She likes that.] I'm Seth Nightroad, by the way---it's nice meeting you. And you are?

School usually starts in April, though.

[He nods in return though, offering his name in return.] Iwaizumi Hajime, but in Japan we offer our family name first so...
